Q&A with Sandra Van Wyk:

We sat down with Sandra who placed first in the women’s Weight Loss category of our Summer Challenge 2023. We wanted to find out the secret to her success and she was happy to share it with us.


Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

My journey was okay, but I needed a push to lose the last kg’s. Entered the competition and was blessed with a free entry.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

I’m not in a good financial position to enter the Challenge. I then entered the competition for a free entry. Didn’t think I would win an entry. Low and behold I won and then decided to push myself to my limits.

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

I didn’t follow a specific eating plan but did the 5 No’s that I was taught way back.
No bread, no carbs, no sugar, etc.
Consistent in my exercise routine.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

I’m an Aerobics and Zumba fanatic. Followed that 4 x times a week. I did have lazy days but always remembered to get up, shake it off and go on.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. Do your best.
  2. Consistency.
  3. Show up.
  4. Never give up.

Join groups as they are the best leaders and motivators. Never too busy for you.
