We sat down with Lauren who placed fourth in the women’s Weight Loss category of our Summer Challenge 2023. We wanted to find out the secret to her success and she was happy to share it with us.
Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I have done a few challenges before this one. My first was great but the last year was an emotional and stressful one, so I did not put in as much effort. So, I needed this challenge to get me back on track again.
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
I am getting older 🙂 so I needed help to get my energy and wellness back! I needed the motivation from my Teammates and seeing all the success stories got me thinking that if they can do it then I can too!
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
I stuck to the basics of the green list provided by Sleekgeek, completely cut out sugar, sodas, bread and starches and was really surprised that the water took away my cravings! If I drank less water, I started thinking about sugar. Upped my water intake and poof… the cravings vanished.
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
I decided to stick to Sleekgeek roadblocks. I did 100 of each every day. It was so difficult at times, but I spread it out for the tougher ones and achieved the goal! I also did aqua aerobics 3 times a week.
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- Give it all you’ve got. It’s a challenge to push through to the end and when you start doubting or feeling like you can’t do it, be honest and open up on the Facebook group or to your team members. 2.
- The motivation is incredible. Use the habit tracker.!
- Routine is key and last but not least if you have an off day, it’s ok… pick yourself up again, dust off and start again… YOU ARE WORTH IT.
Why should people enter the challenge?
The system works! Simple… follow the plan and use the other challengers for their experiences and motivation to keep moving forward!
