💪 8-Week Body Transformation Challenge! 🥗

Q&A with Christiaan du Plessis:

We sat down with Christiaan who placed second in the Men’s Transformation category of our Summer Challenge 2023. We wanted to find out the secret to his success and he was happy to share it with us.

Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

This is not my first Sleekgeek challenge. I started 10 years ago. I was a very sickly person, with very unhealthy habits. Especially with alcohol. My first Sleekgeek challenge started almost out of desperation. I was never in a gym before and unhealthy take-aways were the order of the day. I have done 1 Sleekgeek challenge every year for the past 10 years and I can honestly say my health and habits have completely turned around. I have not been ill in the last 10 years, I only take alcohol on special ocasions and my mental health has improved so much.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

As mentioned, I do one of these every year and I dedicate 12 weeks of my life on super healthy lifestyle. Not just the 8 weeks of Sleekgeek but another 4 weeks prior. I set out healthy habits and goals, I don’t do any drugs or alcohol and health and fitness takes priority in my life. I have always been able to stick to this plan during a challenge and have never gone off track. It is a habit I will probably continue for the rest of my life.

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

Balanced diet. I have worked with Craig Brown and Ashley Galliard on numerous occasions and those eating habits have stuck with me. Normally a very healthy and well balanced diet. I cook all my own meals and I dont take any alcohol. I also take supplements such as Omega and D3. Nothing too extreme.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

My plan was worked out by Craig Brown, from a prize I won during the previous Sleekgeek challenge. He knows what he is doing. I just followed his plan, to the T. Other than a few days of holiday, where I made adjustments, I didn’t skip a single rep. I was able to exercise 6 days a week.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. Use Sleekgeek as an opportunity to not only work on your fitness, but also your health, physical and mental and your habits.

Why should people enter the challenge?

Having a clear goal and committing to it makes all the difference.
