Q&A with Bianca Rothman:

We sat down with Bianca who placed fourth in the Women’s Transformation category of our Summer Challenge 2023. We wanted to find out the secret to her success and she was happy to share it with us.


Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

I have been involved with Sleekgeek for at least 4 years, probably 5. After getting frustrated with being very active in various sports for years but not actually looking like it. I realised I needed a more balanced approach to include more focus on nutrition. After getting that right, I then had to focus on being more consistent and having a healthier approach to living a healthy, balanced approach that was sustainable. That’s when I found Sleekgeek and I think I have managed to implement all the strategies to be the best I can.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

I love the accountability and support that the challenge gives me and although I know what to do and generally implement the right strategies, I sometimes need the extra push and focus. I love being part of this community and sharing my fears, failures and successes with like-minded and generally amazing people that want to see me succeed. The info, the expert advice and the resources are always incredible and helpful to me, and I love sharing the in the passion we all have for bettering ourselves.

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

I make sure I follow a plan that is sustainable and also allows me to not only be healthy, but also live a life that I enjoy. I focus on eating whole and nutritious food, within my calorie allowance, making sure I get my protein in daily. I also make sure I limit food that makes me feel bad, without depriving myself of food that I enjoy in moderation.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

I love training and have always tried to maintain an active lifestyle, making sure it is enjoyable. From running, to cycling, to CrossFit and powerlifting, I always try keep it interesting. After having a double spinal fusion in April last year, I had to change up my training to incorporate more core and isolated training. I started training in a more focused manner with more rehab type strength training I have loved the transition and am now more grateful for my health than ever before.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

Make sure you understand how your body works, what eating plan suits your lifestyle and personal preferences, and find some sort of physical activity you love and will keep doing in the long term. Change small things in your daily routine that move you closer to your goals, and don’t drastically change it all in one go. Get a support structure in place of people that push you to be your best.

Why should people enter the challenge?

If you want to achieve your goals, this is honestly the best way to get onto the right track. It is such an incredible programme to learn to improve and to stay motivated. The skills and personal development gained in the challenge is priceless and will only help you daily, long after the challenge ends.
