The things that you focus on can make or break you.
This is not about being an optimistic or a pessimist, it’s about focus.
Here’s an example. Imagine that you’ve written down 2 lists…
The first list is a 👿negative list:
- Bad things that have happened to you.
- People you don’t like or people who don’t like you.
- Weaknesses and flaws that you have.
- Failures and disappointments that you’ve experienced.
- Injustices and unfair situations.
The second list is a 😍positive list:
- Good things that have happened to you.
- People who you like and who like you.
- Strengths and positive characteristics that you have.
- Successes you’ve had and challenges that you’ve overcome.
- Times when you’ve had a stroke of good luck.
Now tuck one of those lists safely away in a drawer somewhere that you can check on and read through from time to time.
Put the other list up on your bathroom mirror and read it every day.
Which list you put where is up to you, but the one that you read every day will be what you notice more of and think about more often.
