Q&A with Robert Hart:

We sat down with Robert who placed first in the Men’s Weight Loss category of our Winter’s 8-Week Challenge 2023. We wanted to find out the secret to his success and he was happy to share it with us.


Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

Over the past year I have been under tremendous stress, and I ignored my health, allowing my weight to get out of control.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

I needed a reason to help me prioritise my health and fitness.

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

My daily plan was Protein – breakfast, Protein – lunch, Vegetable – dinner. No sugar, no dairy, no carbs and no processed food. It seems extreme, but keeping it simple, made it easier to remain on track for me.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

My exercise routine started with a daily 20-minute workout in my room consisting of basics like sit ups, push-ups and lunges. I also included two 14-24 Km cycles a week. This was ramped up to a daily 40-minute workout in my room and two 14-34 Km cycles a week.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

Everyone is different and we all need a plan that is tailored to fit in with our daily routine. A good strategy, hard work, consistency, and flexibility. These are the 4 keys that helped me ensure that I would reach the goals I set.
