We sat down with Lambert Greeff who placed first in the men’s Transformation category of our Summer 2022 Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge. We wanted to find out the secret to his success and he was happy to share it with us.
Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I have always maintained a fairly active lifestyle. Your typical “train so that I can eat” approach to health and fitness. Unfortunately with a sedentary job and unhealthy diet it catches up with you quickly and I became trapped in a circle of weight gain and diet.
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
I was at an incredibly low point in my life both physically and mentally when I started this challenge. My weight was at its most, I had just gotten out of a bad relationship and I realised I desperately needed something positive to direct all that negative energy towards. Sleekgeek has always had a holistic approach to health which is what I needed.
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
Calories in minus calories out. I kept track of what I was eating. Making sure I was in a deficit. Being kind to myself on days I couldn’t maintain it and trying again the next day.

Consistency was key. It was important to do something every day. Whether it meant a 5 min walk down the road or running a half marathon.
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- You VS You:
Your body. Your mind. Your journey. You have to make your own records and break your own records. - Vitamin N:
Learn how to say “No”. Self discipline is a daily practice. It’s doing what you hate doing but doing it like you love it. - Commit to the cause:
It’s only 56 days that could change the way you live the rest of your life. If you want to take the island you have to burn your boats.
Why should people enter the challenge?
This is a personal journey. It’s challenging yourself to be the best version of you!
