We sat down with Michelle Cloete who placed fifth in the ladies Transformation category of our Summer 2022 Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge. We wanted to find out the secret to her success and she was happy to share it with us.
Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I did exercise before the challenge; I would say 3 times a week-walking & resistance training. But I wasn’t working towards a goal!
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
My friend Monica Theron contacted me and asked to join her on this health journey. Not knowing what to expect.
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
I did a low carb, medium protein diet with lots of green veggies. I stopped with the snacking and only ate when I was hungry.
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
My alarm was set for 05:00 every morning, I decided to exercise for an hour every morning. Then in the afternoon I did some ROADBLOCKS or some weight training. I was so consistent, and I was working towards a goal!
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- Do Roadblocks every day, try to do better every week!
- Get your mind strong and focus on what you want to become – have a clear picture.
- Just don’t stop, keep going, keep trying. If today wasn’t a good day, give your best the next day.
Why should people enter the challenge?
It is the most satisfying feeling to change the way you think about health and exercise and Sleekgeek did that for me.
