 I’ve lost a total of 13.6kg

My starting weight was 108.45kg and my current weight is 94.8kg.

What do you do? [Job]

I am a receptionist/girl Friday.

What else do you do? [Hobbies, non-work stuff, etc]

Is watching T.V and working a hobby? I am a mom as well.

Five months.

Kim Mathee a current member introduced me to the community.

What is your favourite part of the Sleekgeek Community?

The support and encouragement.

YOUR TRANSFORMATION

Describe the “old you” before you made your transformation. How did you get there and what were you like?

I was lazy, and overweight.

What ignited your initial motivation to change?

My daughter, my doctors and my friends. I was diagnosed with diabetes. Kim introduced me to the group to help me make a lifestyle change to get me healthier. I will say that initially it was never about weight loss but about my health.

What are some of the things that the new you does differently now?

I eat healthier and I exercise more.

What are some of the things that the new you still struggles with?

I do not exercise enough.

If you could give yourself one piece of advice to help with that struggle, what would it be?

Exercise!

Did you plateau, get stuck, or get disillusioned, or even slide backwards a bit on your journey?

Not at all. The Sleekgeek Community keeps me motivated.

What is better since you got healthy?

I have more energy! Plus the weight loss and compliments 🙂

TRAINING

What’s your favourite form of exercise? [Running, yoga, weightlifting, etc]

Walking.

How long have you been training and how did you get started?

Not for long and it is not hectic at all but I walk a lot. 

Favorite exercise? [Distance / pose / movement / etc]

Walking.

Your next training goal?

10 000 steps.

Top 5 songs on your training playlist?

All praise and worship music.

Salad, avo and chicken salad

Most memorable personal best achievement to date. Something you maybe never imagined you could do?

Loosing so much weight and looking so good!

What inspires and motivates you?

People, friends and my daughter.

For what are you most grateful?

Life, friends and my daughter.

What do you want to say to other community members who might be nervous or hesitant to make a start?

Don’t be hesitant. This is the best thing you can do. This community offers the best support.

What are your top 5 tips for anyone starting on a healthy journey

  • It doesn’t happen overnight.
  • You will achieve this slowly.
  • Never give up.
  • Don’t underestimate yourself.
  • Post on the group – people will encourage you!
