Q&A: Rahldeyah Esack – 2nd Women’s Weight Loss 

We sat down with Rahldeyah Esack who placed second in the Women’s Weight Loss category of our Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge. We wanted to find out the secret to her success and she was happy to share it with us.


Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

 I have struggled with weight loss all my life and have been trying my best to change my lifestyle permanently. I have had huge obstacles thrown my way but I am just not ready to give up. I fall, I mess up. But I am determined not to give up.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

To continue trying to change my lifestyle, to be healthier and make healthier choices permanently.

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

Banting eating plan coupled with IF 20:4 and mostly OMAD

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

I push with the weekly roadblocks as well as just push myself to move more than I am used to. I push myself to my own limits and beyond. I am not a fitness guru and cannot afford a personal trainer or even a gym. So I walk (at home or on the road) and follow YouTube & TikTok videos for exercises.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. Do this for you.
  2. It’s your race, your pace. So don’t compare yourself to others
  3. Block out people’s negative thoughts and comments. And remind yourself every day of the reasons why you are on this journey.
