We sat down with Qhawekazi Langa who placed first in the Women’s Weight Loss category of our Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge. We wanted to find out the secret to her success and she was happy to share it with us.
Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I’ve been on a weight loss journey for a long time and I struggled with consistency, I’d fall off the wagon and struggle to get back up. I’m an emotional eater, I’d eat anything at any time. I used to take the easiest way out like using the elevator because I was not exercising and I’d get tired quickly.
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
The support I get from Sleekgeek is unmatched, the challenge keeps me focused and motivates me to push. We as the challengers are regularly reminded that progress is what matters not perfection.
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
I followed the Sleekgeek Asijiki meal plan coupled with intermittent fasting, 16:8 and 3litres of water daily.
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
I do spinning, skipping rope and Aerobics 5 times a week.
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- Start your weight loss journey now. Stop postponing, you’re delaying yourself.
- Be consistent and focused.
- Finish the challenge and continue with your body goals. Continue with being consistent even after the challenge, your goals don’t stop when the challenge ends.
