We sat down with Jeanette Du Toit who placed fifth in the Women’s Weight Loss category of our Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge. We wanted to find out the secret to her success and she was happy to share it with us.
Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I was the perfect example of a yo-yo health and fitness person. For the 1st time I can say this challenge I learned long term lessons.
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
The community and team. The support is unreal. You are part of a family, that makes you want to do and be better.
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
I did not cut out anything in my diet, but limited carbs and close to no sugar. Small portions with limited snacking. Water, more water and then top it iff with some water.
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge
I have always been active but put in a lot of extra effort. 4 days a week netball practice with games over weekends, 2 days a week gym with our bio, as much long km’s in our mountain at least twice a week. Roadblocks all day everyday. Made a game out of doing it and they made a huge difference.
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- It should never be all or nothing
- You are probably thirsty not hungry
- One small goal for the day, everday
Why should people enter the challenge?
Why not? Here you make friends for life. You will never find a greater support system. Your health should be priority. Bonus: active, strong and sexy bod.
