💪 8-Week Body Transformation Challenge! 🥗

Q&A: Arno Meyer – 2nd Men’s Transformation

We sat down with Arno Meyer who placed second in the Men’s Transformation category of our Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge. We wanted to find out the secret to his success and he was happy to share it with us.

Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

I’ve had many challenges but the biggest was that I’ve been suffering from depression and my way out to feel better was eating whatever made me feel less depressed.

The results were not good for my health and weight as you can imagine.

Weighing 108.9 kg at the beginning of January 2022. On the 9th of January 2022, I decided to start making some healthy changes to become a better me because each one of us deserves to be a better you than yesterday.

It was not an easy process to reach 85.7kg but definitely worth putting in the hard work. My dad always said what you put in is what you will get out.

My dad is surely my biggest inspiration and hero when it comes to endurance and persevering when things are challenging and tuff. He is now a 70-year-old bodybuilder and still going strong.

Above all, I thank God for giving me the strength and opportunity to be part of this challenge.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

I’ve been looking to join a community of healthy living where I can stay focused and accountable at the same time but also for encouragement to those who have achieved great results.

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

I’ve been cutting out most fat, bread and sugars.

I’ve taken high protein and carb meals before 15:00 and after that only high protein with a salad.

I’ve been using multivitamin, moringa tablets, pure protein powder and L carnitine as a supplement/nutrition.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

I’ve been training on 4-week programs x 2.

The 1st 4 weeks were to build some muscle where I’ve been training 5 times a week. The training was medium to heavy weight training. The last 4 weeks were 8 times a week. 3 Morning sessions with 30 – 45 min cardio and 400 abdominal exercises. The afternoon training was 5 sessions with light weights and high repetitions to cut.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. Set clear goals for what you want to accomplish.
  2. The steps you gonna take to achieve your goals.
  3. Come what may – try to beat yesterday’s version of yourself and keep your mind strong.

Why should people enter the challenge?

This platform gives you the opportunity to be part of a healthy lifestyle community that will support you all the way.

There is so much they offer you from weekly emails guiding you and the highs and lows of what other athletes went through.

I’m focused, driven and successful in the goals I’ve set because of this community and challenge.
