Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I grew up obese. For the majority of my childhood, I was overweight and very self-conscious!
I managed to get myself on track in my late teens-early tweens and maintained my weight for years thereafter. My challenge came in again after the birth of my second born where I got to a very uncomfortable place with just no oompf, no willpower, no drive. I lost my “Mojo”. I was very very ready to feel good again and to improve my overall well-being at the stage when I heard about Sleekgeek.
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
The fire I felt to get healthy and feel good in my own skin again! The motivation that would come with it.
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
The goal was to lose weight at a reasonable rate with having enough energy to get me through the day. I did not use any meal plan but tried and tested what worked for me.
Breakfast – oats & banana
Snack – apple
Lunch – green salad
Dinner – brown rice, chicken & mixed veg
+-2l of water per day
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
Having an extremely busy work and home life, I fell short in this category! I did as much home exercise as possible but I have to admit, it was not every day or every week. Some running up the road and the roadblocks are all that I did. Imagine the results if I had exercised vigorously!
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- Everyone is human – fall off track, get back up, dust yourself off, and hit harder than you did before.
- No or little weight loss in one week is not being defeated! It is simply how the body works… It is healthier this way 🙂
- Do not compare yourself to others. Your goal, your journey, and your body is unique!
