Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I absolutely loved doing this Sleekgeek challenge as part of a team – it made ALL the difference! I totally recommend doing Sleekgeek to anyone and have done it as an individual a few times before. But this time, I saw the best results and was the most committed because of the accountability to my leader and I didn’t want to let anyone in my team down! It was so great to chat to them regularly via whats app and share our journeys.
Do the Sleekgeek challenge – you have nothing to lose – except any bad weight and bad mindsets you want to get rid of!
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
I have seen it on Facebook a few of my friends are on it. I have done a few individual challenges with this time as part of a team. Veronica (1st place winner) was my leader!
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
Mostly keto (but not dirty keto – e.g. no animal fats, creams, or butter) – did it to limit carbs and sugar as I get chronic migraines.
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
HIIT workouts (a lighter version of CrossFit style exercise) – max of about 30 minutes and then stretch
cardio – but more walking than running
4-5 times a week
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- Get accountability (too easy to fall off the wagon otherwise)
- Choose a meal plan that is achievable (otherwise you will chuck it or binge)
- Be careful of overdoing it with exercise or hitting it too hard to quickly (I have had injuries previously from crossfit and too much spinning)
Why should people enter the challenge?
The same phrase I used above:
Do the Sleekgeek challenge – you have nothing to lose – except any bad weight and bad mindsets you want to get rid of!
And I am sure I am not the only one who has found that Covid has created some really bad coping mechanisms due to chronic stress and it happens gradually over time. And before you know it, you are way off course mentally and physically. This is an EXCELLENT way to shake yourself up and get yourself back on the right track. Set achievable goals, work at them, and then get them!
