Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I was not eating very well, which caused me to be consistently feeling bloated and was not sleeping well due to re-flux.
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
I knew I had to do something to change the status quo, but ultimately it was my wife who suggested we join the challenge.
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
Stuck to the basic rules regarding balanced proteins/veg/carbs. For me personally, this meant much fewer carbs than I was used to having.
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
Basically went to the gym 4 times a week (mainly weight training and core), and tried to do some cardio every day (hockey/squash/swimming/touch rugby).
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- Get through the first week.
- Once you have established a new routine, its much easier to just focus on maintenance
Why should people enter the challenge?
Personal health and well-being. For me, the best prize was the quality of sleep I am now getting.
