Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

During my pregnancy, I gained a little too much weight and I thought it would just magically disappear when the baby came. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Between having a newborn and settling into my new mom role, I knew I had to do something about my weight but did not have the time or energy to go to the gym.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

I came across the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge on Facebook and thought “Well, I’ve got nothing to lose, except a few kgs! I liked the idea of training from home and the groups I could join for that extra motivation.

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

I followed the colored charts provided by Sleekgeek. Mostly ate from the Green chart and avoided the others as much as possible. I had a cheat meal weekly, just to make sure that I don’t fall off the wagon completely.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

I followed the moderate bodyweight exercise plan and tried to keep up with the daily group challenges. I also concentrated on moving more and sitting less by counting my steps and doing aerobic exercises

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. To not see this as a diet but as a lifestyle change.
  2. Get your mind right and make the change.
  3. Take it little by little, step by step and before you know it you will be living a healthier more active life

Why should people enter the challenge?

The motivation you receive from your team members is super motivating. The changes you make in this challenge will lead to a healthier and happier you. The advice I received from the Sleekgeek team will definitely stay with me forever.
