Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

I always used to struggle with my weight when I stopped playing rugby. I almost always never felt in the mood to hit the gym.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

So nearly 5 years ago I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and because of that I lost a kidney. With the stress of nearly not surviving, I started partying to celebrate the fact that I was still alive, which was just a conn I kept telling myself!

I woke up one day and decided enough now, stop celebrating and start living!

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

Well I didn’t really have a plan, I was just winging it initallyand only started looking at my food the last 4 weeks which consisted allot of chicken and brocolli.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

I ran 2.5km every day, as I could not excercise at the gym, since they were closed.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. Keep going.
  2. Don’t wait to start eating right.
  3. If you don’t feel like running then go walk – just start.
