Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

I thought I knew what healthy eating was, I had no idea. My ratios were way off, quantities were not correct. I thought eating fruit all day everyday was the way to loose weight. I now know that’s not the case.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?

I gave birth to my 2nd baby in Jan 2021 and I had a good stubborn 10kgs to still loose. It just wasn’t going anywhere, I was trying to eat healthy (in my head that was the correct way, it was absolutely not!)

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

I followed a simple eating plan, freshest produce, cooked straight forward and with no sauces. This is my down fall!
I had a list of foods I could have and portions I could have them.

I went through the day ticking off all the boxes in their quantities, protien, veg, carbs, fats etc. This helped me in many ways! I’m on the road a lot, I have 2 kids so eating can be unpredictable. I don’t have to stick to a so called strict diet as this never worked for me before.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

I loved the roadblock challenges along the way and I really tried to give it my all. I did my 10km walk / run every week and this made me feel great (I hadn’t done this before as I just didn’t have time! Not an excuse I know.) I did Zumba three times a week. Yoga twice a week and 15 min cardio workout every morning. I used YouTube for all my training programs.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. 8 weeks are going to pass. If you want to feel amazing again and get your jam back just stick it out and do it. Have a count down daily calendar, join a team as this was a huge motivation!
  2. YOU CAN DO IT !!
  3. I promise you, you will be thanking yourself that you did it!
