Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
In 2014 I quit smoking and started eating instead and gained 35kg in one year before my weight stabilized. Since then I’ve been overweight and uncomfortable.
What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek Transformation Challenge?
My wife has been living a healthy life and has been quiet active the last few years and she convinced me to enter the challenge with her.
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
I’ve cut out the “white food” (potatoes,bread,white rice and sugar) from my diet.
My daily eating plan consisted of:
Boiled eggs x2 in the morning
A Granny Smith apple and yogurt at 9:00
Brown rice ,mince and mixed vegetables at 12:00
Apple or healthy snack at 16:00
Meat (+-200g) , salad and half a avocado at 18:00
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
Sit ups, time on the rowing machine and walking as many steps as possible on a daily basis and the weekly Sleekgeek roadblocks.
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- Never give up
- Stick with your game plan
- Join a team of challengers with previous Sleekgeek challenge experience to provide the motivation you need.
Why should people enter the challenge?
It provides you with the support structure and motivation that you need to succeed in reaching your goals through team support and motivation from other challengers.
