I love the fact that we are a group of like-minded people who set and achieve our goals in various areas of our lives. Also that we have the support of professional leaders with the knowledge to guide us in our journey.
YOUR TRANSFORMATION
Describe the “old you” before you made your transformation. How did you get there and what were you like?
I remember having to walk and jog a 5km Park run. Slowly but surely I lost the extra weight and trained more. Today I can run a 21.1 km
What ignited your initial motivation to change?
I felt slow and without the energy to live.
What are some of the things that the new you does differently now?
I eat better, train regularly in the gym and run at least 3 times a week.
What are some of the things that the new you still struggles with?
Eating healthy all the time is a challenge.
If you could give yourself 1 piece of advice to help with that struggle, what would it be?
Prepare enough healthy food to be able to snack if you have to.
Did you plateau, get stuck, or get disillusioned, or even slide backwards a bit on your journey?
Yes, I think we all have our ups and downs through our life journey
What is better since you got healthy?

Running and gym.
How long have you been training and how did you get started?
I started this again 2 years ago with the long-distance running.
What does your typical workout look like?
Gym –
Day one legs with cardio
Day two arms with cardio

How does exercise make you feel?
Exercise makes me feel happy and strong
Do you prefer to train alone or with others? Why?
I don’t mind. If I go for a PB I want to run alone.
Most embarrassing training moment?
Got stuck with weights on my chest during the bench press. Tried to go too heavy.

How has exercise/training/Sport Changed your life? [Made it better, etc – please be specific]
Training and exercise has bettered my life in many ways. I am feeling fit and healthy. It is easy for me to run up the stairs at work or in a mall. Breathing is easy. My mind is quick and sharp.

Don’t delay the starting date. Take it one day at a time. Do better every day. Create new good habits.
What are your top 5 tips for anyone starting on a healthy journey?
- Plan and control meals – change to healthy food for all meals.
- Plan exercise and training schedule and stick to it. Start slowly.
- Be 1% better than yesterday.
- Get to know you body
- Never give up
