YOUR TRANSFORMATION
Describe the “old you” before you made your transformation. How did you get there and what were you like?
The old me used to eat a lot of unhealthy foods. I ate even though I wasn’t hungry, before I knew it I was round like a ball.
What ignited your initial motivation to change?
I started feeling uncomfortable in my clothes, my pants size went from a 14 to size 18. I hated myself and my body. I was constantly tired and my body was feeling stiff.
What are some of the things that the new you does differently now?
Exercise 5 days a week. With lockdown I walk with kids on weekends keeping them active as well. I feel much more confident than before. I eat healthier, and only when I’m hungry. I also drink more water.
What are some of the things that the new you still struggles with?
I am still scared that I will end up being that potato couch and stuffing my face with all the unhealthy foods and drinks. I try and keep active as much as I can and I even involve kids in my exercise as well.
If you could give yourself 1 piece of advice to help with that struggle, what would it be?
Be proud of who you have become and who you are. Love yourself.
Did you plateau, get stuck, or get disillusioned, or even slide backwards a bit on your journey?
Yes, I did for a week. Not going to blame the lockdown but I have been feeling trapped and cannot get out, I suppose being stuck indoors makes you feel like this sometimes, but then I realized I have come this far not going to give it all up.
What is better since you got healthy?
I have so much more energy to even play hide and seek with my kids and run around which is something I never done before.

Weightlifting, and slowly getting into the running.

I started when I started doing the Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge in January. I loved the exercise plans that came with it and how you started as a beginner and slowly moved onto the harder ones. I loved the weekly challenges. It was hard at times but you put your body to test and push how far it can go. Never knew I can do so many burpees or sit-ups in a certain time frame.
