Today’s recipe is not for a full meal, but it is a lesson on how to make a glorious, nutrient dense pesto as a tasty add on for most savoury dishes.
1 rounded Tbsp = 1 fat portion.
Basil is so easy to grow in abundance and seeds are available in most supermarkets, so grow your own in a big pot or simply buy pre packaged from your favourite supermarket.
This recipe is clean and nutrient dense.
All you need to do is add these ingredients to your blender:
2 cups of basil leaves
2 Tbsp sunflower seeds
100g walnuts
The juice of half a lemon
1/3 cup olive oil
Seasonings of choice (I like a little chilli in mine)
Blend until smooth.
Pesto’s are great because all you need to do is whizz super nourishing foods in a blender… and voila!
The pesto can be kept in a jar in the fridge for up to 5 days.
You can keep it for even longer by freezing it in containers with airlock lids or in ziplock bags.
Super delicious, super easy to make, super nutritious, and just a little brings any meal to life!
Enjoy!
