A lot of the time we make things out to be harder and more complicated than they need to be.
We say that change is hard, eating enough vegetables is hard, going to be early is hard, being more active is hard, giving up chocolate is hard…
But is it really?
I mean, what about quitting heroin? What about beating cancer? What about staying sober? What about burying your teenage daughter?
THAT is hard. The other stuff? Maybe not as hard as we like to think.
Sometimes we just need to get out of our own damn way so that we can actually DO IT.
So I want you to think, “What if it was easy?”
- What if change was easy?
- What if losing weight was easy?
- What if being more active was easy?
- What if getting more sleep was easy?
- What if eating more vegetables was easy?
- What if drinking less alcohol was easy?
- What if skipping dessert was easy?
What if you’ve just been making it out to be harder and more complicated than it actually is?
Even if it’s NOT “easy”, there’s a good chance that it’s easier than you make it out to be.
What if you CAN do it?
Dr. John Berardi, the co-founder of Precision Nutrition really hits the nail on the head when he says: “It’s going to be easier than you think, but it’s going to take longer than you think.”
Change takes time. Building skills takes time. Developing new habits takes time. Changing your beliefs and identity takes time.
But millions of people do it every single day – and you can too.
