💪 8-Week Body Transformation Challenge! 🥗

Meet Tebogo Lekalakala, our 2019 Women’s % Weight loss 5th place finisher!

Tebogo Lekalakala was our 2019 Women’s % Weight loss 5th place finisher!

Weight loss is judged purely by a percentage of weight loss, based on before and after measurements submitted and confirmed by before and after photos (which include a photo of their measurement on the scale).

Tebogo lost a total of 15.53%!

Here is a quick catch up with her.

Please give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I can say that I’ve been going to the gym for quite some time, my issue in losing weight has always been with food choices.

No matter how much I worked out, I couldn’t seem to lose weight. I knew about Sleekgeek, for a while, so I decided to enter.

What prompted you to join the Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge?
Besides the reward, I wanted to try stick to certain eating habits knowing well that the Sleekers are there to support.

I wanted to finally prove to myself that I can lose weight if ONLY I ate proper. I know Sleekgeek has a couple of options for one to follow but being in a challenge would make me want to stick to the plan.

Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
I basically had my meal at 8.30pm latest (I get to sleep before 12). I only had a few carbs at night, so your rice, your pap was not part of the plan at night.

I ate mostly salads and made sure I had protein.

My day always started with coffee, with milk but NO sugar. I let go of sugar a while back. After a morning session, I have oats, no sugar and just a bit of milk and a fruit

Lunch is mostly protein and carbs – rice or pasta with tomato and onion only, no oil added, but I always had spices to make the meal more enjoyable.

If I had afternoon class, I would have a snack (apple/egg/dried fruit), this is before 3. 30 pm.

Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

I ran 3 times a week for an hour (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).

I had a personal trainer for 2 (Wednesday and Friday) days of the week to help me with toning.

Other than that, on weekends, if there is a race close by I would go and do my 21kms.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. You can gym all you want but if your eating is not good the weight loss will be very slow. Nutrition is key
  2. If you are eating well and going to the gym this will help you tone and build muscles in the right places.
  3. Go to a shop and buy that one top/dress/jeans that you want to wear, but maybe too small. Measure your progress using it, otherwise, your clothes will tell you if your journey is progressing.

What did you find most valuable about your experience?
