Here’s a quick Q&A with Stefanie van Eeden who came 3rd in Women’s Weight Loss, losing 20.6kgs in Sleekgeek’s latest ULTIMATE YOU 8-Week Transformation Challenge (sign up for the new challenge now at www.ultimateyou.co.za)!
QUESTION 1: Give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
A: Before the Ultimate You challenge I was a sugar addict who tried any and every diet and quick fix I could find. Losing weight between the no exercise and junk food was nearly impossible. I would do a diet for 4 weeks, give up, and put double the weight back on again, It was a vicious cycle. My day consisted of 2L coke and a lot of junk food.
QUESTION 2: Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
A: During this challenge I quit all sugar and did Sleekgeek’s REBOOT which was provided in the vault. I exchanged my 2L coke for 2L water and all my junk food for healthier balanced meals.
QUESTION 3: Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
A: Being a stay at home mom with two daughters going to the gym was not possible. So I would take my daughters on walks every day as well as doing squats, home workout dvds and cycling.
QUESTION 4: Did you use any supplements or do anything else worth mentioning to help you get results?
A: No, just clean eating and hard work.
QUESTION 5: If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
A: (1.) Be your own motivation. Being your own motivation takes the pressure of looking like someone else right off which will make it easier to reach your goals. (2.) Set a realistic goal. One you will be able to achieve. Unrealistic goals will demotivate you. Aim for a healthy 1kg a week. (3.) Prepare your meals on a Sunday. Failing to plan is planning to fail. When your meals are prepped and ready to go it’s harder to fall off the wagon.
QUESTION 6: What did you find most valuable about your experience?
A: The most valuable thing was learning how to treat my body like a temple and not a waste bin. Learning to love myself again and to achieve any goal I put my mind to. The support I’ve received from this challenge is outstanding and I couldn’t have asked for a better support system.
