QUESTION 1: Give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
A: I have been active most of my life playing numerous sports and going to the gym quite often. After I was married I let go a bit and was quite busy at work when I picked up a load of weight. Myself and my wife actually entered another challenge that we won in 2015. After the challenge it was difficult to keep motivated and stick to the diet as there was no assistance post challenge. I had a hernia operation which made it difficult to train and I fell back to my old ways.
QUESTION 2: What prompted you to join the ULTIMATE YOU Transformation Challenge?
A: After my Hernia operation I picked up a lot of weight and had to make a change.
QUESTION 3: Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
A: I mostly did a low carb diet which consisted of Eggs, chicken, green salad and 1 cup of rice a day.
QUESTION 4: Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
A: Mostly High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) cardio and high intensity weight training.
QUESTION 5: Did you use any supplements or do anything else worth mentioning to help you get results?
A: Whey protein.
QUESTION 6: If you could give some advice to future challengers, what would it be?
A: Be consistent in your training, and abs are made in the kitchen – stick to your diet!
QUESTION 7: What did you find most valuable about your experience?
A: The motivation from other fellow challengers and the commitment shown from each one was inspiring.
