At Sleekgeek we are always looking for ways to make living a healthy lifestyle more fun and exciting.
It brings us great pleasure to announce that we are starting a new tradition at Sleekgeek called #RecipeWednesday where we encourage Sleekgeek community members to share new (or old favourite) healthy recipes in our Facebook Support Group.
If you are in Instagram lover, feel free to tag Sleekgeek on there and use the hashtags #Sleekgeek and #RecipeWednesday. We will try to feature some of the best community posts each week with a repost on the Sleekgeek account to help spread the great recipes and give you a bit of fame at the same time!
Where to start?
If you are looking for a healthy and delicious recipe website to start off with, you will definitely want to take a look at Jamie Oliver and his amazing recipes.
Just like us, Jamie has a solid focus on REAL FOOD and has done so much good work through his Food Revolution. He firmly believes that access to good, fresh, nutritious food is every child’s human right and he is calling on us all to join a global Food Revolution in order to provoke debate and inspire real, meaningful, positive change in the way our children access, consume and understand food.
Where to from here?
Step 1: We hope to turn #RecipeWednesday into a popular weekly Sleekgeek feature, just like #MovementMonday, #TransformationTuesday, and #FaceOffFriday.
(P.S. What do you think about us adding a #ThirstyThursday where we challenge everyone to track how much water they drink throughout the day and report back to us?)
Step 2: If this is a success, we would like to source volunteers from the community to help us roundup some of the best recipes posted each week to feature them on the Sleekgeek website and possibly even eventually create a community-driven Sleekgeek cookbook. If this sounds like something you would be keen to get involved in then feel free to email help@sleekgeek.co.za and we can talk!
Step 3: From there, who knows what could develop. Maybe we will source some healthy ingredients or shopping vouchers to give away to the top recipe posters of the week, or we will look at hiring a part-time or full-time Sleekgeek Recipe Manager to take the recipe aggregation and posting to our website to a whole new level.
