Welcome back to Day 2 of the Step Challenge, glad to see that you’re still with us!
Stick with us for the full 21-day days and I promise you won’t regret it.
As I said yesterday, walking more throughout the day is one of the easiest and most reliable ways to improve your overall health, fitness, and wellbeing.
I asked the Sleekgeek Community, “Has anyone here lost a lot of weight mainly from just walking more?”

And some of the responses were incredible:

Walking more isn’t all about losing weight, but that’s usually the most immediately rewarding result that motivates you keep on going and get all of the other benefits too.
According to Healthline, some of the benefits of walking more include:
- Burns calories: Walking helps burn calories, which supports weight maintenance or loss depending on factors like speed, distance, and terrain.
- Strengthens the heart: Regular walking improves cardiovascular health by lowering blood pressure, BMI, and enhancing blood vessel function.
- Lowers blood sugar: Short post-meal walks can improve blood sugar levels and make daily exercise easy to integrate.
- Eases joint pain: Walking lubricates joints, strengthens supportive muscles, and alleviates arthritis-related pain and stiffness.
- Boosts immune function: Daily walks strengthen immune regulation, reducing your risk of colds, flu, and other illnesses.
- Boosts energy: Walking enhances oxygen flow and hormone levels, offering an effective and natural energy boost.
- Improves mood: Walking reduces anxiety, depression, and social withdrawal while boosting self-esteem and positive emotions.
- Lengthens life span: Walking briskly can lower your risk of death and hospitalization, especially for those with heart conditions.
- Tones legs: Walking tones and strengthens leg muscles, especially on inclines or stairs, complementing other strength exercises.
- Inspires creative thinking: Walking promotes mental clarity and creativity, especially outdoors, making it a great problem-solving tool.
And, if I could contribute one of my own benefits, it can massively improve mental health by getting you outdoors and into nature away from your phone/computer/tv. In my experience, this benefit is boosted even more if you’re able to go for a walk with a loved one or use it as an opportunity to catch up with a friend.
So how about we bump walking more a little higher up our priority list?
