Each day for 8 weeks we’re going to help you think, eat, move, or sleep better.

This is what you need to do in order to successfully complete today’s challenge mission.

  • Before you go to bed tonight, do a “brain dump” into your Sleep Journal.

In past missions we have stressed the importance of quality sleep and how it benefits many aspects of your health.

We got you to set up a Sleep Journal, cut out caffeine at 1pm, we set a “start shutting down” alarm, and set an actual bedtime alarm.

These are all essential to a great night’s sleep so we can recover from our stresses and be fresh to take on the world.

Tonight we want to deal with all the noise buzzing around your head in the evening.

Brain Dump:

Have you ever got into bed and lay awake because you are thinking about your to-do list for the next day?

Or maybe your presentation that’s coming up? Or what you are going to take to work for lunch? What you will wear? Or whether your kid is going to stop being so moody with you? Or why some people don’t like pineapple on pizza?

The list goes on and it may be more or less severe depending on your personality.

A great tool for this is to do a “brain dump”.

All you do is before you get into bed or before you turn off your life, take a few minutes to write down whatever’s bugging you.

Emails you need to send or reply to… Great ideas that you have… Appointments that you have to book… That thing you should have said to someone… Heck, even the lyrics to the song that’s stuck in your head.

The simple act of writing them down and putting them down somewhere more permanent can give your brain “permission” to stop obsessing over them and worrying that you’ll forget.

Whatever is in your brain, get it out and on to paper in any way possible.

That’s it.

Easy peasy, sleep easy.
