Challenger’s Journey – Day 22

Vault menu: Home | Instructions | Nutrition | Exercise | Challenger’s Journey | Prizes | Resources | Support

👋 Welcome to Day 22 of the Challenger’s Journey!

Each day for 8 weeks we’re going to help you think, eat, move, or sleep better.

  • 💡 Each week we will be focusing on 1 of the 4 pillars at a time.
  • 💡 Each day we will challenge you to take action with a daily mission that you need to complete.

Here’s a quick snapshot of what Week 4 looks like:

Today’s 🎯 Mission:

This is what you need to do in order to successfully complete today’s challenge mission.

  • ✅ Equip yourself with some kind of Sleep Journal.
  • Write down, in your Sleep Journal, how being more rested and energetic could benefit you and those you love.
  • 🤩 [OPTIONAL] Share with us the current state of your sleep (do you think it’s good? Bad? OK-ish?) in the Sleekgeek Facebook Group.
  • 📋 Complete the form at the bottom of the page when done.

⚠️ Click here if you need a reminder about how this challenge works and what the rules are.

More 🔔 Info:

By now you should know the idea behind journaling.

If not, go back and check out the Mindset Journal (Day 1), Food Journal (Day 8) and the Movement Journal (Day 15).

To quickly summarise so far:

  • The Challenger’s Journey is designed to help you learn more about yourself more than anything else. You’re going to learn a lot!
  • Knowledge can be fleeting. One moment you know, the next you forget. Journaling is a way to make it more permanent mentally (as a method of study) as well physically (written down for later reference).
  • What you learn about yourself becomes your “handling instructions” for your life. This knowledge will help provide motivation when the going is slow, keep you on track, teach you important lessons, and so much more.
  • Journaling helps raise your awareness about what’s going on and keeps you honest / accurate / down-to-Earth.
  • As you progress along your journey, even months and years in the future, you will be able to look back at what you’ve written and what you’ve learned. It will help you keep track of your progress and remind you of how far you’ve come.

Better Sleep From Layering:

Improving the quantity and quality of your sleep is all about laying strategy on top of strategy.

Unlike with nutrition and exercise where one minor change or one different choice can have a profound impact, this is very rarely the case when it comes to sleep.

While we do hope to introduce you to some absolutely game-changing strategies and tools that will transform the quality and quantity of your sleep, the truth is that progress will come slowly here.

You’re going to need to layer on strategy on top of strategy, habit on top of habit, tweak on top of tweak. Consistently.

Change is a process, not an overnight event.

This is where your Sleep Journal comes in to play.

It’s here to keep track of what strategies you’ve tried and what you still want to try.

Limiting Factors:

Something that we’ve learned in the Sleekgeek Coaching Program from working with hundreds of clients is that sleep (or lack of sleep) is often what is holding them back.

Most people find that when they don’t get enough sleep, they:

  • Crave more unhealthy foods and eat too much.
  • Become more lethargic and less inclined to exercise.
  • Feel less motivated and optimistic.

On the other hand, people who do get enough sleep:

  • Crave less junk food and don’t feel the need to constantly eat in order to keep their energy levels up.
  • Have more energy to workout and choose more active fun activities too.
  • Feel more motivated, optimistic, and that taking on new challenges is much more do-able.

This is just the tip of the iceberg too.

Feeling well rested can improve how you show up in your relationships, how you manage your finances, your ability to be productive and high-performing at work, and your overall ability to enjoy life more.

The bottom line is that getting enough quality sleep can lead to a cascade of other healthy habits.

So before you try and fight an uphill battle of overcoming things like junk food addiction, constant snacking, feeling too lazy to go to the gym, feeling angry all the time, being unproductive at work, and so on… Maybe it’s worth seeing if you can make a few small tweaks to improve your sleep?

It just might be a game-changer that helps you transform every other area of your life more easily…

It’s not all-or-nothing:

One of the first things that clients tell us when we talk them about their sleep is that they can’t.

Maybe they have kids or a crazy work schedule or just too much going on.

That’s fine.

This is not about being perfect. It’s not all-or-nothing.

It’s about doing better than you are currently. Something is better than nothing.

Some people need to find ways to simply add more sleep to their nights. Others can’t do that, so they have to focus on how to improve the quality of the small amounts of sleep that they do get.

Quantity and / or quality.

Whatever you’re dealing with, we’re going to help you do it better.

Grab your journal and get started:

Just like with your Mindset, Food, and Movement Journal, it could be:

  • A notes app on your phone.

Whatever works for you!
