So, you've made the decision...
You want to start running.

It's super easy, right? Just put on some shoes and head out the door.

- But which shoes?
- What type of clothing?
- How far do you attempt to go?
- Or how fast?
- And if you do make it out the door, why is breathing so hard?

Running is said to be the easiest sport to start, but we know that it is not always so simple, especially if you have never run before.

So we've teamed up with running coach Pamela Paton to help you go from mostly walking to running 5km in just 8 weeks!

When Coach Pamela first started running she had the same questions.

Luckily, she received the guidance of a more experienced runner. Which is why she started the 8 Weeks to 5km Challenge. To guide and support Sleekgeeks who would like to start running but have no idea where to begin.

The 8 Weeks to 5km Challenge has been designed to take into account our busy lifestyles and the need to fit training in around kids and jobs and life in general.

There are 3 sessions a week and each session is about 30 minutes long.

It is an online program so Sleekgeeks from all over the world can come together and make a positive change in their health and fitness.

ABOUT YOUR COACH

Coach Pamela Paton

Over the past number of years running has become an absolute passion of Coach Pamela’s and it is her mission to help as many women as possible change their lives and fitness by starting to run.

"Although I was active and ran at school I stopped as soon as I left. I only started running again in my early 30’s.
When I started running again, I had no idea the impact it would have on my life. Running is now my social life, it’s where I see my friends, it’s my meditation and therapy. Running is pretty much what keeps me sane.

WHAT YOU GET

✅ 8 Weeks to 5km Training Plan

Each week you will receive your program for the following week. This beginner 5km program will take you from a walk/run to being able to run 5km in just 8 weeks.

✅ Private Facebook Group

The private Facebook group is where you can ask your coach questions, get support and motivation, as well as connect with other Sleekgeeks doing the 8 Weeks to 5km Challenge with you. You'll have life-long access to this group.

✅ Email Support

Each week you will receive email support with tips, pointers, and motivation. You will also have access to your coach directly via email for any questions that you may have that you would prefer not to post publicly in the Facebook group.

BENEFITS

By joining the 8 Weeks to 5km Challenge, you will be joining other Sleekgeeks, online, who are at the same stage in their running journey as you are.

Besides the weekly email support and motivation that you will receive from Pamela, you will also be able to support and motivate each other via the Private Facebook Group created for participants of the 8 Weeks to 5km Challenge.

In the Facebook Group, you can discuss running, along with any challenges and frustrations faced when starting out on this journey. You will see that the challenges you are facing are normal and are faced by most beginner runners. In the Group will also be able to ask Pamela questions and will be able to see the questions the other Sleekgeeks have asked. This way helping each other.

IS THIS CHALLENGE RIGHT FOR YOU?

You know you need to make a change and you really want to start running but how do you know if this Challenge is right for you?

To begin the Challenge you do require a basic level of fitness but you do not need to be able to run. You'll need to be able to walk briskly for about 60 minutes.

The 8 Weeks to 5km Challenge is designed for beginner runners and to take you from mostly Walking to Running a full 5km. If you are already running easily then this Challenge might not be right for you.

The aim with this Challenge is to help and guide Sleekgeeks who would like to start running, or who have been off for a while and would like to get back into running.
