❓ How to complete the mission

Nothing that has been created has not first existed in the mind of man. Visualisation has been used for years as a way to help enhance performance of skill based activities, create desired emotional states and achieve goals.

It has been shown that by simply visualising an activity, such as playing the piano, the person doing the visualisation can improve at that task. In a nutshell – simply being able to do something in your mind, can increase your chances of being able to do it in reality.

According to Psychology Today your brain is constantly using visualisation in the process of simulating future experiences thus you can learn to use visualisation to actively create future simulations that can help you improve the goals that you set for yourself.

🤓 How?

Here are three visualisation techniques that you can use to start off your day.

Picture and Describe

The goal here is to picture and describe your goal in as much detail as possible. The more realistic it is the better.

Perhaps you have an important meeting lined up for today. Close your eyes and imagine yourself dressed in your most confident boosting outfit, stride purposefully into the meeting room, you are calm and relaxed, conversation is easy. You sip your coffee before you start and have a cool glass of water with you should you need it while you present. You set up your laptop and deliver your presentation. It goes smoothly and you answer all the questions with knowledge and confidence.

Use all of your senses and keep adding in more detail until the process starts to feel as real as if you were actually experiencing it.

Emotional Intensity

By feeling something deeply you can achieve a level of belief associated with it for example you can not be upset about something unless you perceive it to be true. The more you believe the greater the emotional impact.

So in order to really enhance your visualisation you need to really create as much emotional detail around it as possible so that you can feel it as strongly as if it was real.

One trick is to use music to match the intensity of your emotion.

Exposure

Read books, watch videos and try to expose yourself to the action or task that you are trying to visualise and accomplish. Search out anything that can increase your knowledge and awareness of goals so that you have more information to use as you create your visualisation.

It is quite difficult to imagine something that has not happened to you or that you have minimum exposure to.
