Wow.. is all I can say…

I was in JHB to attend the #Big5Showdown this past weekend in JHB and it was nothing short of epic.

A weekend of sunshine, international crossfit stars, the local crossfit community, local celebrities, loud music, fit bodies and some thrashing workouts. It was a serious vibe. If you were not there then you really missed out.

A whole lot of Crossfit teams powered it out over the two days with Crossfit Platinum ultimately taking the number 1 podium spot after the international athletes who were in it for the fun.

A real testimony to the Crossfit community was the attitude of the international athletes. They were all smiles and had plenty of time to mix with the fans, take photos and off other athletes advice.

The crowds were also treated to watch 5FM jocks such as Nicole da Silva and sports guy Sias du Plessis representing in the celebrity workout.. they all survived with good spirits.

But really .. you have to be at one of these events to experience the buzz and see what Crossfit truly is about because it really is hard to explain.

5 Crossfit rockstars coming to SA

Now this is exciting.. alongside our incredible SA athletes from around the country we welcome 5 Global Crossfit Games rockstars coming all the way to SA to take part and enjoy with the local community. If you are into Crossfit this is AMAZING.. if you are not yet into Crossfit.. prepare to be amazed!

All of these athletes are highly competitive in the world arena with the highlight Annie Thorisdottir who although injured in 2013 was crowned the Fittest Women in the World in 2011 and 2012 by the Reebok Crossfit Games. Seeing her in action will be a rare event!

5FM rocking it

How cool there is a team of 5FM DJs going to be doing an Exhibition workout at the event! Glad to see one of my faves Nicole da Silva getting into the mix.

As we speak they are “training dirty” at Crossfit Platinum to get ready for the day and prove that you don’t have to be elite to rock Crossfit!
