Here’s a quick Q&A with Mione Tryon who came 3rd in the women’s transformation category in the latest 8-week Ultimate You Challenge.
- Give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
I have always struggled with my weight and started training from quite a young age. My diet was the cause of me just never loosing the weight yet training 3 days on and off.
When I got married in 2011 to my husband a personal trainer he really motivated me to get fit and healthy so I would lose weight but always put it back on.
- What prompted you to join the ULTIMATE YOU Transformation Challenge?
Had a baby in 2013 and then again last year so my boys are now 3yrs and the youngest 10 months and this year we went on a little weekend away and I felt so uncomfortable in my clothes at the beach that I knew I had to do something as these boys are only going to grow up and beach holidays are always going to be a part of our lives. That’s when I came across the Ultimate You Challenge on Facebook! It was just what I needed at the right time.
- Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
I followed the Low Carb Paleo diet: cutting out sugar and dairy which is something I had on a daily basis and this made a huge difference.
- Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
My husband being a trainer started training me doing both strength training and HIIT training about 5-6 days a week.
- If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
My advice to anyone would be to “think 8 weeks of your life”; make these changes for 8 weeks and you will be amazed how your entire life style changes.
Take it easy on yourself not everyday will be a perfect training or eating day as long as you strive for a better tomorrow.
Keep pushing daily for your short term goals and you will get where you want to be, remember this is ultimately for you and no one else!
What did you find most valuable about your experience?
This Challenge has helped me to realise that it is not just an 8 week challenge but a starting point to get to your ultimate fit and healthy body.
