Mandy Jubber Success Story

Hello Everybody,

My name is Mandy and I am a chocoholic! I cannot say no to chocolate, cakes, sweets or sugar…well that was until I joined Sleekgeek.

I heard about Sleekgeek from a friend who invited me to join the FB page in December 2014. After I tried the reboot, which lasted a whole 4 days and the 30 day sugar free challenge which lasted 3 days, my journey began. On the 17th May 2015, my very good friend said that she was going to pay for me to do the Ultimate You Challenge. I was excited and nervous at the same time as I have tried so many diets. With my first pregnancy I picked up 30kg. I lost most of it over 2 years by watching what I eat until I fell pregnant again. I picked up 15kg. Lets just say my diet consisted of a pie, slab of chocolate and a steri- stumpie EVERYDAY! So you can imagine, here is this chick who cannot say no to anything sweet, doing a challenge!

So on the 18th May I started the reboot to help prep for the challenge. Started at 72.2kg and lost 2kg the first week. After taking my before photos and measurements, I looked long and hard at them and I realized that I am over weight, that I do have a problem. That’s when I realized that I must do this for me and not for my friend.

I got my bum into gear and took this head on. But I also knew that if I am too strict on myself, I will cheat and give up. So I would cook as normal just healthier choices, no carbs, no sugar, no alcohol, no dairy and defiantly NO CHOCOLATE! I started to get all creative in the kitchen…which my hubby loved! Not the same old boring stuff!

I cannot afford all the Banting funny stuff so I just got creative. For breakfast I fry up some egg and have either fried banana, avo, or tomato. I would make tiny quiches in muffin pans and freeze them. Take it out when I need them. Omelets are my new best friend as I also get creative with them.  I snack on biltong at around 10am as I get peckish. By having biltong…my water intake increased. Lunch normally consisted of salad. I would make all kinds, tuna, beef, biltong, chicken, bacon. For supper, I would eat what I make for hubby, just not with all the sauces and I love making cauliflower rice 🙂

Once I had the eating part under control I started to do exercise. I jog 4 days a week, around 3km and sometimes the weekend. When I don’t jog I enjoy Zumba. Though sometimes Zumba does me!!! That’s all I can really do as having two boys who want your attention all the time, time is limited. The little guys join in with Zumba.

My husband has noticed that I have more energy, I smile more and I am more confident. My craving to feel good and to look good overcame craving sugar and chocolates. It’s the 27 June and I am weighing 64.2kg and have lost 35cm! I COULDN’T BE ANY HAPPIER and so grateful for Sleekgeek!!! #SG4LIFE
