Mindset is the Magic

What if I gave you the absolute best eating and exercise plan in the world and you did not do it?

Its value becomes zero.

Pretty obvious.

Sticking to the plan is the where the magic happens.

It is all in the mind. When your mind is in the right place you can do anything. Without the correct mindset the plan is probably worthless.

In fact a person doing a mediocre plan consistently is far better off then a person not doing an excellent plan consistently. Makes sense right?

So stop worrying so much and obsessing about your plan and start DOING.

Most plans out there have some value because lets be frank. No fitness/health experts can agree on anything anyway. We as the consumer are always caught in the middle.

Mindset is everything. I love the quote “Change your mind, change your life.” It really might be as simple as that.

I am not a big fan of relying on “willpower” and “motivation”. To me those are fleeting emotions likes unicorns that are hard to summon on request when you need them most.

I believe more in making “commitment” and changing “mindset” linked to your values.

That is a solid base for progress I can rely on.

Your mindset is your collection of thoughts and beliefs that shape your thought habits.  And your thought habits affect how you think, what you feel, and what you do.  Your mind-set impacts how you make sense of the world, and how you make sense of you.

Your mindset is a big deal.

Because they are related to mindset, it also helps to understand attitude and beliefs.

According to Tony Robbins, a belief is simply a feeling of certainty about something.  For example, if you believe that you’re intelligent, all you’re really saying is, “I feel certain that I’m intelligent.”

The basic building blocks of beliefs are ideas.  Beliefs are like a tabletop.  As you build references and experiences, you add legs to your tabletop.  When your idea feels certain, it becomes a belief.

That’s why it’s so important to know what your beliefs are based on.

Your beliefs shape your attitude.

Your attitude also shapes your beliefs.

Your beliefs shape your mindset.

Start to believe that you want to be healthy and that you can.


We can spend forever debating low carb vs high carb, crossfit versus traditional gym, what to eat before or after a workout, whether supplements are evil and hundreds of other topics.

I believe the best plan for you is the plan you WILL consistently do.

So pick a plan and DO it. Do it consistently with enthusiasm and enjoy it. If you don’t enjoy it pick a new plan.

Enjoyment will keep you going back for more. That’s how I work. I’m sure it’s the same for most people too. Getting healthy is not meant to suck. It is meant to make your soul smile.

If you are someone who is constantly negative about your health plan and constantly battling against yourself you are unlikely to succeed. No matter what the plan.

The building blocks for success are to be positive, believe you can do it, and to commit to it.

When your mindset is strong you will not allow setbacks to scupper your journey. You will navigate tough situations easier then others. You will not feel sorry for yourself. You will feel more at ease and less stressed.

Focus can bring mindset changes. I also find it is not like you get in the right mindset and it is for life. My mindset is often changing. I go though periods where it is not fantastic. That is normal. Like you I am not a mechanical robot. I have to work hard to keep in the right mindset consistently.

When my mindset is right I am unstoppable.

But I can assure you that when you are in the right mindset nothing can stop you.

Change your mind, change your life
