Mandy du Preez turned Reboot into a lifestyle

My Reboot Journey:

My journey started after feeling rather down in the dumps for quite some time because I was gymming regularly but still seemed to be gaining weight. Prior to turning 30 years old I could eat whatever I liked and as long as I was going to gym my weight remained stable.

Gradually after my 30th birthday I began putting on kilos. Until at 31 years old and at my heaviest 75kgs I made contact with a good friend of mine from school days just to chat. She mentioned she was cooking a Paleo meal and that’s why her reply to my messages were delayed. Being a rather curious person, I asked what a Paleo meal was and she began telling me all about Sleekgeek and Reboot. I was reluctant to try the reboot as it meant it would be a lot of changes and I don’t generally adapt well to change. It sounded so different to what I was used to it eating.  To be honest sounded rather crazy at first.

My husband was however very keen after going on the website and seeing photos and testimonials. I thought, ok we can start in a few days or weeks time but he insisted on starting the very next morning. I was shocked at his response but knew deep down it was for the better for both of us.

Our journey began in the beginning of November 2013. We did a very strict reboot from beginning Nov. to Dec. then after that from Dec. to Jan. we did another “reboot” with the odd cheat of Christmas mince pies definitely not as strict as our first reboot. Thereafter we have tried to be as strict as possible while still enjoying life.

Our meals are mostly Paleo now. As a rule there is more than one slab of 90% Lindt chocolate in our kitchen cupboard in case we have a sweet craving. However just one or two blocks does the trick to satisfy the craving. We have also increased our water and fruit intake considerably. We do our very best to avoid white potatoes and bread as much as possible. I love searching for new Paleo recipes and trying them. The Sleekgeek Carrot and Date muffins as well as Tuna fish cakes are my favourites we ate a lot of the above dishes during our first two reboots. I made a point of weighing myself just once a week to keep myself motivated. When eating out I will always order veg or salad as opposed to the old me which would not blink an eye to order chips on the side.

I believe there is no such thing as co-incidence and I know now that I am going to be a Sleekgeek for life. I was meant to hear about Sleekgeek. It has changed my life in so many ways:

  • I am happier.
  • I have a lot more energy- go to bed around 10pm and wake up before 6am sometimes even before my alarm. (Prior to reboot lifestyle I would be falling asleep every night @ around 8:30pm & still wake up to my alarm before 6am very sleepy, grumpy & still tired.
  • My stomach goes more regularly than ever before compared to prior reboot. I suffered with constipation and constant stomach ailments.
  • I have more confidence in myself and I comfortably fit into size small pyjamas and clothes.
  • Went from 75kgs to 58kgs
  • Gone are the biggest pants I have ever owned size 14 to smallest pants at the moment size 8. YAY ME!!!
  • I have learnt to eat only when hungry and not just for the sake of eating.
