In August 2012 I was in London and was riding on a bus to Liverpool Street. A friend of mine took a pic of me being shown on CCTV. It was very unclear.
I argued with him for days and eventually admitted it was me.
I left London infuriated and hurt. At the airport I jumped on the scale… 198 kg!!!
I was emotionally finished that I had let myself get to this point the time was NOW. Change was upon me and I knew I wanted to do it.
I followed my head and heart and started my journey. For 45 days I cleansed my body and then started “eating clean and training dirty” (well… not so much training at first
My journey started and I simply cut out all bread, pasta, red meat, rice, maize meal, sugar, carbonated drinks and fruit juices. We slowly changed to eating a different lifestyle and living differently.
No more oil no more salad dressing. No more cheese. No more margarine, butter or any bread spreads.
We have replaced our pasta with zucchini and love it. We drink plenty of water and exercise regularly.
Exercise consists of gym only with a focus on weights and a little cardio about 15 min cycle and 15 min step.
I was a full-blown diabetic with my sugar levels seldom dropping below 15. I was admitted to Hospital in 2011 Dec where I had the highest reading (40,8) that the 55-year-old doctor had ever seen. I was on chronic blood pressure medicine and sugar stabilizers. – Even injections and much more. Some days I was taking 15 Cataflams and more …
I am happy to say that I have been “drug” free for just over 1 year now and my stats are as follows:
- Weight was 198 now 97.2kgs
- Sugar 4.5 bp 124/82 and no medication in at least 1 year ( except colds and flu).
I have physically re-invented my life.
Everything seems so much better and so much nicer J
SleekGeek has supported me in my journey more than they know.
WOW I’m supper impressed with myself.
