Here’s a quick Q&A with Gerhard Brink who came 5th in the men’s transformation category in the latest 8-week Ultimate You Challenge.
Give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
Well, I was on my way to becoming really fat and unfit also my cholestrol gave me problems so I was really going the wrong way. I didn’t really know how I would have fixed it but luckily my wife saw the challenge and I knew it was time for a change
What prompted you to join the ULTIMATE YOU Transformation Challenge?
The photos was a big help off the previous winners and all around me were friends and family who encouraged me to go for it, I knew if I could get my head into this challenge I can do anything, and of course my wife joined me and that was also a big help.
Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
We used the 28 day plan which allows you to eat 3 times a day. All your light meals are at night.
Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
We sometimes did workout videos and did jogging as well.
If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
1) Get your head in the game.
2) have friends and family to encourage you.
3) Have a game plan and stick to it.
What did you find most valuable about your experience?
The transformation that I saw. Never thought I could change that much!
